The Lomonosov cluster

Address: Moscow, Ramenskii bul., 1

The multifunctional Lomonosov cluster is a part of the Innovative Scientific and Technical Center of Moscow State University "Vorobyovy gory", the purpose of which is to provide scientific and technical activities, acceleration and subsequent commercialization of scientific developments.

The building is divided into two parts: the stylobate one  - substantial as fundamental science - and the light floating silhouette top as a metaphor for striving for the future and the development of innovation. Due to plasticity and special materials, both parts of the building are closely connected to each other. This represents the theme of upward movement and the desire to fly. This is conveyed thanks to the dynamics of the consoles and complex plasticity, which is formed, among other things, by glass facades.

The main material is glass, plastically designed differently in the upper and lower parts. The complex spot of the stylobate is compensated by a smooth glass surface, and the simple block of the upper part has a pronounced fine jagged plasticity, united by horizontal interfloor belts. The shape of the stylobate is emphasized by vertical lamellas.

The unique visual appearance of the facade is formed by structural X-ONE Protection Security insulated glass units (with triplex), as well as X-ONE Climate Multi. Thanks to such insulated glass units safety is ensured, and also indoor thermal comfort and an energy-efficient environment are maintained.
